Heifer's History: This simple idea of giving families a source of food rather than short-term relief caught on and has continued for over 60 years. Today, millions of families in 128 countries have been given the gifts of self-reliance and hope.
There are more than 75 Heifer projects in North America, over 20 in the southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas), including an urban agricultural project (Gardeners in Community Development) in Dallas,TX at Our Savior Community Garden.
FUMC Denton has supported Heifer through Alternative Gift Fairs, the Read to Feed program for children, Adult Volunteer work Groups volunteering at Heifer Ranch for more than two decades, Christmas and Easter mission outreach offerings, volunteering and other programs and activities.
