The Church is not a building. The Church is praying people.
First UMC-Denton is seeking a core of members to become Prayer Underwriters. Prayer Underwriters will commit to pray at least weekly for the people and ministries of our church.
Prayer Underwriters will undergird the leadership (staff and volunteers), worship services, programs, evangelism, missions, small groups, classes, facilities, outreach, financial matters with prayers of thankfulness and prayers for God's guidance.
Prayer Underwriters will seek God's blessings and presence among God's people and their work at First UMC-Denton.

General information which can be used in prayer will be will be available through the church newsletter, the Columns, as published and on the web page of FUMC.
Leadership names and information will be available in a variety of ways during the year. Boards, committees, groups, and special event planners can ask for prayers as they progress towards goals and projects.
Special seasons have their own emphasizes and needs which will be concerns for the Prayer Underwriters.
As this new prayer ministry develops, we will discover better and new ways of supporting the ministry and mission of First United Methodist Church-Denton. As you have ideas, please share with the Prayer Ministry Team.
