Meet at the church on the Sunday in August prior to the first day of classes for the Denton ISD for a send off. Prayer Walk directions and suggested prayers will be provided.

Join the Prayer Walk

Help surround schools in Denton with prayers of safety, well-being, and success before school starts! Join together with your Sunday School class, friends, neighbors or family, or fellow citizen. Choose a campus to pray for and enjoy fellowship and exercise as you walk around perimeter of the campus and pray together! What a blessing your prayers will be for all of the students, faculties, and staff in our city and beyond!

PRAYER WALKING is defined as “praying on-site with insight.”

Prayer walking around our community’s schools helps us to draw near to those for whom we pray. It focuses our prayer. Prayer walking helps us to reach out to our community in mission and prayer.

6 major components of Prayer Walking:

• Join with Other Believers (First UMC-Denton)
• Set Aside Time (the Sunday in August prior to the 1st day of classes for Denton ISD)
• Choose an Area of Focus (Denton & Surrounding Schools and Universities)
• Pray with Insight (Prayer Cards Provided with Specific Prayers)
• Focus on God (This is not a political statement on the subject of prayer in schools. This is an opportunity to lift up our administrators, teachers, support staff and students in prayer)
• Drop comment cards at the First UMC-Denton church office.
