The church follows the Denton ISD when closing for inclement weather. When the Denton ISD closes so does the church, and all activities for the day are cancelled.
Church closing decisions are reported on the First UMC-Denton website and on the major television networks and/or their websites: Channel 4 (KDFW), Channel 5 (KXAS), Channel 8 (WFAA), and Channel 11 (KTVT), TXA 21 TV,
The CBS Radio Station Group stations (NewsRadio 1080 KRLD, 98.7 KLUV, 103.7 Lite FM, 105.3 The Fan, 100.3 Jack FM, and Mega 107.5) will also be notified if the church is closing for inclement weather.
