The two Celebration Worship Services anchor the worship experience at First UMC – Denton. Held in the sanctuary each Sunday morning at 8:30 & 11:00 am, each incorporates the elements found in traditional worship. Scripture reading, liturgy, and congregational and choral music surround and support the Bible-based preaching of our senior pastor.
The congregation reaches out to greet those around them during a welcome opportunity, and children experience a time in the service designed mostly for them. The sacrament of communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month, and both adults and infants can enter into membership in the church by baptism.
The Celebration Worship Service is telecast on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am. A dedicated team of volunteers work to provide a live telecast of the 11:00 am worship services on cable channels Charter 25 and Verizon 39 for those who are unable to attend.
This Jazz Worship Service at 9:45 am each Sunday offers worship with contemporary music in the casual and family friendly atmosphere of Flinn Hall. Our senior pastor presents a bible-based message during this worship service which blends Methodist heritage, modern multi-media, and music by a live band, offering an alternative to the traditional worship service.
This service is a time of worship, meditation, prayer, and reflection. All are welcome in Cole Chapel at 6:30 on the first Wednesday of each month! Special music is interspersed with the message.
