Traditional Services

The two Traditional Worship Services anchor the worship experience at FUMC-Denton. They incorporate the elements found in traditional worship such as Scripture reading, liturgy and congregational and choral music surrounding and supporting the Bible-based preaching of our lead pastor. They take place in the Sanctuary, 8:30 and 11:00 am.

The sacrament of communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month.

Service times:

7:30 am – First Meal – A free breakfast for those in need followed by an informal worship service. (Monroe Gym)

8:30 am – Traditional Worship – A traditional, formal worship service featuring liturgy, organ-led hymns, and choral music. (Sanctuary)

9:45 am – Mosaic Worship – An informal service in a relaxed, contemporary setting with a praise band. (Monroe Gym)

11:00 am – Celebration Worship – Similar to our 8:30 am service with the added component of some multi-media integration. Broadcast on Charter 191 and Frontier 39 (Sanctuary). For live streaming, click here.

11:00 am - Open Modern Worship — A warm modern worship community that uplifts the sacred worth of all people with preaching from Rev. Jonathan Perry.  (Flinn Hall)

12:30 pm – Jesus Fuente de Vida — A service of joy, praise, and worship for the whole family. A time of gratitude with vibrant singing where God’s presence touches your soul. (Flinn Hall)

Road Trip

Finding meaning in the midst of our travels is critical to where we will eventually end up — how we go is just as important as where we are headed. If anyone knows about travel, it’s Paul, the Apostle. He spent a great part of his life traveling the world to bring the story of God’s love in Jesus to Asia Minor. By land and sea, foot and donkey, in hardship and style, Paul believed that he had been given a divine mission to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the known world. His story offers us wisdom and direction as we seek to move into the next chapter of our lives in 2020.

January—February at Open Worship

Revolution

What is the center of our lives? Of our faith and spirituality? Though there are many ideas, Jesus says the center is simple and profound — love. Centering our life, our work, our families, our faith, our growth, and our goals around love — love of God and neighbor and ourselves — gives us a purpose and place and path in tune with the loving heart of God. Discover the life revolution when we let all we are and all we do revolve around love.
