Visiting for the First Time? Here’s What to Expect…

We look forward to meeting you! Any of our services on Sunday readily welcome first-time visitors. We average about 800 people in our various worship services each Sunday and our doors are open to everyone! When you arrive, look for a red-vested greeter or usher in any service. They will be looking for you! Please let them know if you need any assistance or information.

We are literally “downtown” in Denton just one block off the courthouse square, located at 201 S. Locust St. Our campus is bounded by S. Locust St. on the west, E. Mulberry on the north, Industrial on the east and E. Sycamore on the south. If your first-time visit is on a Sunday…

  • The main entrance to the sanctuary is at S. Locust St., but we have multiple access points from the various parking areas. Once inside the building, signage will point you in the appropriate direction or you can ask any of our red-vested greeters.

    • If you park on S. Locust St. in front of the church, you can enter in three places: up the steps of the sanctuary, through the Ivey Garden entrance in the middle of the block or the Cole Chapel entrance.

    • If you park in the city parking lot on E. Mulberry or the spaces next to the building, you may enter through the Mulberry St. entrance. (Designated handicapped parking available.)

    • If you park in the east side parking lot, you can take the sidewalk on the south side of the East Wing to the east side entrance. (Designated handicapped parking available.)

    • If you park on E. Sycamore or in the Sycamore St. lot, the entrance is close to the northeast corner of the building. (Designated handicapped parking available.)

  • We have four worship services on Sunday morning, plus our monthly Family service and one service in Spanish in the afternoon.

    • Traditional worship at 8:30 am in the Sanctuary

    • Contemporary worship at 9:45 am in Monroe Fellowship Building

    • Traditional worship at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary

    • Modern worship at 11:00 am in Flinn Hall

    • Service in Spanish (Ministerio Jesus Fuente de Vida) at 12:30 pm in Flinn Hall

  • There is no “dress code” for church. You will see men wearing suits and ties to jeans and sports shirts; women wearing dresses and business suits to slacks and blouses. Dress comfortably in whatever you feel is appropriate.

  • If your first visit is on the first Sunday of the month, Holy Communion will be served in all worship services. We celebrate an “open table.” All who wish to receive the bread and juice are welcome. Pastors provide instructions prior to communion.

If your first-time visit is on a week-day, for security purposes the outside doors are locked.  The two primary entrances are at the main office entrance through Ivey Garden in the middle of the block on S. Locust St. or the east side entrance. Just touch the call button and someone will greet you and buzz you in.  If you have any questions, please call our offices at 940-382-5478.
